Sessions last between 60mins and 90 mins – each session varies in structure but generally around half the time is spent giving a thorough explanation of the topic backed by worked examples, with the rest of the session focused on the student practising questions and receiving feedback on each one.
In the experience of Fully Explained, online tuition is not only as effective as in-person tuition but is actually more effective. Having tutored both formats, the relative merits of each is something Fully Explained is familiar with. Students find online tuition less intimidating than having someone sitting next to them and makes them feel more able to ask questions, more flexible to fit into your schedule as there is no waiting around for a tutor to arrive to your home,
Also, online tutoring includes powerful functionality such as the ability to supply a copy of all class notes by email for future reference.
After the first few sessions, any initial hesitation gives way to a realisation of how well online tuition really works!
